I am descendant of Warm Springs, Wasco, Yakama Nation, Ute, Goshute, Shoshone, Sto'lo Nation.
I am an advocate for our precious water, first food's, and treaty rights. I advocate as a concerned tribal member and as a small business owner of a fly fishing outfit.
My ancestors are spread all throughout the pacific northwest, starting up in Sea bird island, right across the Bellingham, Washington boarder. My grandfather Edward, Gabriel did a hook line, fished for Salmon, steelhead etc.
Then to Yakama Reservation in Southern Washington, my mother's family dip net fished the Klickitat River for Salmon, steelhead etc.
To Chinook, Astoria, Seaside area all the way down to the once famous, but no longer exists Celilio falls. Is now under the Columbia river. Due to the damns. Our Cascade people Warm Springs, Wasco people lived along rivers and lived off the land we are known as Nchi'wana'pum (the big river people.)
We are fishing people it's was one of our main source of food.
I am a basket weaver as well. I weave baskets for our firsts foods to harvest. I also can bead not avid bead artist by any means.
Both my mother and father both Warmsprings/Wasco/Yakama descendants. From the Columbia River all the way over to Ute/Gushote /Shoshone side.
I am a descendant of Sacajawea from my grandmother Ella, Rose, Aguilar, Qui'yup.
I'm told my grandmother Ella comes from the strongest medicine man in Wyoming. This is oral history I just received recently.
For my only connection to this side is dreams I always dream of this area. My grandmother told me we come from a family of dreamers. I need to go connect to my roots yet in Ute/Goshute/Shoshone territory. My passion in life is being connected/ protect to my roots our way of life, as my ancestors have done since time immemorial.
To continue to educate who we are, why we are a voice for the voiceless, that guiding isn't just guiding, there is a whole other world just have to open your eyes to see it. To have something wild you have to give back!
